New York Street Art!!! Nov 2013
I tried to grab some shots from our trip to the east coast. Mostly in the city, along the highline. Some weird little details and signage. One of this awesome old mural with the "Bode wizard guy", from Brooklyn right by this little coffee shop called Lincoln Station, and the last shot is from a copy of spray can art that I found in this book shop under the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge.

How to paint a very grumpy lion
Start light, choose a few complimentary colors, reds and yellows. As you add detail you revisit darker areas of the image and fill in the details with lion shaped lines.
I try to keep the background soft and out of focus, cause that part is really hard to draw, and there's a lot of leaves and sticks on all the trees and that is just too much junk that nobody really cares about. Nobody has ever been like "wow that lion looks cool, but the trees in the background are amazing!"
Then with the lion I just keep drawing fur all around its head, longer fur for the mane, cause that's where the long fur is on a lion mostly, and short fur lines on the face part. Then just keep that up until the lion gets this big sourpuss scowl going on and looks all mad about life.

Is it ok to laugh at death?
You know how everyone is always talking about keeping Portland weird, well finally someone is doing something about it. The weirdest sign of the year award goes to the saddest hippies in the world. I just wanted to scrape my barbeque into a ziplock bag and shoot them a text, I feel so awful for them and even worse for laughing at their sign all the way home from Irvington.

4) Have your son do the fill in parts during breakfast on Saturday after cartoons.
5) Walk everybody to soccer practice.

Jet Jet, low risk street art hobbyist
Dropped this off at Vancouver Lake. It was a great swimming day. |
Left this one just north of Otter Rock. |
This drawing was inspired by my second best camp group of the year, who accidentally named themselves "NEVERMIND" |
This sign still totally does the job. |
A whole bunch of unfinished work just dying for some attention. I can hear these lousy paintings in the garage all night.
