Upon closer inspection I realized this was in fact a yard waste bin...the tree was just trying not to put anyone out.

This is this faded old hamms beer bear window painting by the delapitated mini mart down the block. Great in the same way that this next shot is great....incredibly goofy looking.

Portland is just obsessed with pirates.

some little hood-rat tagged over the juniors mural so I touched it up. Feeling fresh and new. It's a good morning to drink champaign.

Below are some pictures I took over the winter. Despite all the stress, of daily life, running around like crazy, and trying to scratch up enough money to stay fed and all, I have these moments , maybe everyday, when I look out at the world and am just blown away to be here, alive at all, and with eyes to look at it, feet on my legs and breathable air all around. I wonder if I would forget that I had ever felt such free joy if I didn't have a camera on my phone to always freeze these moments.

This is the kind of awesome stuff I can only draw when I am subbing in middle schools. I was in a room full of autistic teenage boys all day, and this is what happened. This survival strategy would keep me alive in prison for at least a week. I would just have to draw a lot more gangster orcs.

I found this image of a painting i did a couple of years ago, and realized I had never posted it. I won't lie to you, I think it's super beautiful, however it does go to show that sometimes you get so caught up in the painting of tiny flowers on a print dress or a bird nest in the misty trees that you fail to notice you gave the girl white Gregg Oden hands. Doops! I think I remember convincing myself that they looked ok at the time. Never Again! From here on out I will pledge my life to being a master of dainty hands.

I painted it onto the bottom of an old drawer I found laying in a heap by my friends house. When you are always on the lookout for junk to paint on, there are sometimes moments when you wonder if you weren't just stealing someone else's special junk. I had a guy yell at me for looking through the trash behind Office Max once. He told me I was stealing if I took anything out of their trash. They actually break and cut all the crap they have to throw away at the end of the year, to reduce their inventory before taxes. It seems like they could get just as good of a wright off by donating it to charity or something. I don't get it. Add it to the list of stuff I don't get I guess.

I've been copying images from this big book of african animals I got from the library. Now i have to return the book so I don't get fined. I need to score some new animal books at goodwill, so I don't have to think about what to paint. Last week i got a cool book on WWII airplane nose art. Thats awesome and brainless. I am using some of those images to do a bunch of mini-paintings on wood, also this space book Nolan gave me and the usual Jaque Custou type of stuff.

Here the little human works some powerful magic on the coarse stuff of the earth. You can see how the world has changed in the course of a few months, and also some photos of the mural as it stands on 20th ad Morisson at Modo. The scary part is a painting of a water baby, as described on the bulletin board at bagby.

This is what life looks like, it looks like pretty good times. We have the little man eating pickles at Wolf and Bears while we wait for dinner. Sister looks chilled out and hungry.

Here you have a little naked human at the hot springs, well built little feller.

Here he is pictured snuggling Momma in the sun rays. And here pictured getting pushed around on his little bike at speeds greater than 2 knots.

So we returned to RICHARTS Today. He was nowhere to be seen. It is an amazing thing. I think he is one of the best humans on the planet. Veda thought the people on shell beach reminded her of Uncle Jerry, who is not a real uncle but a person on a music album for cult members. We are home now and our dog is still alive and stinking. The last picture is e and my son at the swifts this summer....

years ago we wen't to Richarts in Centralia, WA. I used to think about him more than i do now. One time we went and my friend Carie Demming said he had imagined his wife. Thats how I feel some times.(see previous post) One time I went and his grand kids were playing drums inside while he finished breakfast and gave us a look around with a napkin in his shirt. I havn't Seen the documentary, because i dont wan't to be a groupie. I just really like him. One time i rode my bike to portland and really wanted to meet Rich on the way because he said he did the STP (seattle to Portland) every year, then when i rode into town and talked to him i realised he meant that he just made a bike helmet and rode around town for the event. Not that his interpretation was any less grand, i just thought we would ride into Portland together and chat a lot on the way.

Things that have passed. Thats how I would have called its name.

Chris Broomellio was a good guy. He hung out with me at Scooters and watched the jello shots happen. even though he was afraid to party. too bad. I miss him.
I painted this juice cart and then it went out of business. Do you want something painted?
This mouse was dead when i took this picture. I just posed his tiny corpse in the tree hole and made it look natural. Like all good centerfold captains.

and yuppies. I didn't even use a ruler to do this. It's

about as precise as I get, which isn't saying much.

I finally finished painting this mural i started a couple months ago. I had a lot of help from James Mack and Dan Lee and then Gregg came through and painted some lovely clouds at the last minute. It was awesome of the ladies at MODA to let me paint up the wall of their fancy boutique. I really want to paint more murals. It is super satisfying. Go ahead and email me if you have a big space you want painted.

Its halfway through August already...Ive got a show hanging at le Merde 301 SE 3rd and Morrison...and a new baby boy named Ursa...thats the news...or at least thats some news...Huge thanks to Jason Brown and Chris Habberman for being such awesome hosts and organizers at the Goodfoot and at the paint jam...and thanks to everyone who bought art and came out to see it at all last month...I sold almost everything from the show...it was an awesome show and a great experience...

I am really excited to put up my new paintings and constructions at the Goodfoot...Giant bird wing sculptures and dream markets...and more animal paintings...bigger and better animal paintings folks, bigger and better...because the recipe for success never calls for smaller and crappier...it just doesn't...and along that line of thinking I am making a new new years resolution even though its May...I will keep up on this blog more thouroughly...this I promise and if I should fail in my duties here than I will erase this posting and nobody will know I had set that kind of goal...see how that works guys...shoot for the stars...cause if you fall short, theres a good chance noone will notice...especially considering it will take years for the light of the stars you may have shot at to reach earth...you could just wait till the big next super-nova to show up in the science pages of the Oregonian and be like "oh yeah. I got it...that was the one I was shooting for!"
